Do Hard Things

It seems that my generation plain out refuses to do things that are hard. Eat right, commit to church, work out, read a non-fiction book from cover to cover, make that phone call, ask the person out, go on that trip, make things happen and don’t take no for an answers. Commitment is measured on what it takes to stop us. Stop us from making a different in the world. People that are good at making excuses are bad at making things happen. Life is hard, really, really hard. Over half the world makes $2 a day or less, children are dying around the world today because they do not have a food to eat or $. 50 of Medicaid to take.

There is this crazy idea that some people are blessed or talented and some are not. This is not true. What we have is not as important as what we do with it. It is hard work that makes us or brakes us… not talent. Everyone fails but talented people are the ones that get up again. That is the true advantage of talent, the ability to get up again. Talent is an inward passion  that people cannot explain, so they amp it up to this mystical power called talent.

Do hard things or pass away with the wind, every one runs into walls, hard working people break them down with a hammer if necessary but they get thought them.

No boss hires a person because they are good at telling everyone why a job can not get done. They hire a person because they know a job is hard and need a person that is able to succeed where others have failed. They need a person to over come and bring back the head of the dragon and save the kingdom (aka there business). This world is in desperate need of heroes. Heroes in the church, heroes at home and heroes in the work place. In the past heroes have stormed the beaches on D-day, they say “let’s Roll” in a terrorist attack, they say I love you to a partner in a broken marriage, they do the hard things.
