I read this week that the average smart phone/tablet users spends 94 min a day on there apps. I have to admit that I probable am above average in this area. I love my apps. I am writing this post on an app, I check my bank account and pay my bills on an app, I watch tv on an app, I play board games with an app, in fact my computer and tv are in serious danger of being sold because of my apps.
We understand in the world of electronics that it does not matter how great a devise is, if there are no applications that work on that devise. The same is true in our lives, it does not matter how much we know unless we apply it.

It seems that my generation plain out refuses to do things that are hard. Eat right, commit to church, work out, read a non-fiction book from cover to cover, make that phone call, ask the person out, go on that trip, make things happen and don’t take no for an answers. Commitment is measured on what it takes to stop us. Stop us from making a different in the world. People that are good at making excuses are bad at making things happen. Life is hard, really, really hard. Over half the world makes $2 a day or less, children are dying around the world today because they do not have a food to eat or $. 50 of Medicaid to take.
There is this crazy idea that some people are blessed or talented and some are not. This is not true. What we have is not as important as what we do with it. It is hard work that makes us or brakes us… not talent. Everyone fails but talented people are the ones that get up again. That is the true advantage of talent, the ability to get up again. Talent is an inward passion that people cannot explain, so they amp it up to this mystical power called talent.
Do hard things or pass away with the wind, every one runs into walls, hard working people break them down with a hammer if necessary but they get thought them.
No boss hires a person because they are good at telling everyone why a job can not get done. They hire a person because they know a job is hard and need a person that is able to succeed where others have failed. They need a person to over come and bring back the head of the dragon and save the kingdom (aka there business). This world is in desperate need of heroes. Heroes in the church, heroes at home and heroes in the work place. In the past heroes have stormed the beaches on D-day, they say “let’s Roll” in a terrorist attack, they say I love you to a partner in a broken marriage, they do the hard things.

Well, I am here at Starbucks using the holy grail of mugs, every time I bring it in to a Starbucks they give me as much free coffee as I want. What am I doing at Starbucks…. pondering the meaning of life of course. Or more exactly the meaning of my life. This is the year that I hit the big 30. The undeniable end of youth, not that I plan on going to a retirement community any time soon but I don’t really fit in with the 20 something’s anymore.
As I grew up I heard many messages on the will God. Here I am 15 years removed from teen camp and the truth of that message sticks out to me today “If you wan’t to be in the will of God, brush your teeth”. Could it really be that simple, yes. Here is what the bible tells us about the will of God. “Ecclesiastes 3:11 He (God) hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that No man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.” God has given very few people the gift of prophecy and chances are you have not been given that gift. I know I have not been given that gift. So just to recap on the will of God “No MAN can find out the work that God maketh”. Basically to be in the will of God you do not need to know God’s Master plan. Just believe by faith that God has one for you. You don’t need to know what 2012 hold, you don’t need to know were you will be working one year from today, you don’t need to know where you will even live.
In other words, do what you know you should be doing today. (AKA brush your teeth) Follow God’s word and you will be in God’s will.

Highlights where Directing two great weeks of Summer Camp, starting Kidsville, working several interesting jobs, paying off over $7,000 in debt and celebrating one year of dating Beth and getting the holy grail of mugs(it gives me unlimited free Coffee from Starbucks for the month of Jan) I was also able to read around 40 amazing books and I started running.

Dear Readers
Well, it has been about a year since I have last posted. What has happens in that time. For starters I now have an iPad 2. I am in the parking of McDonalds right now stealing wifi to write this post. I am shocked that I still have readers. This last year has been a series of unfortunate events. Starting with computers that just don’t like me. To larger things like multiple car accents. No, they where not my fault. I am reformed and now enjoy the exceptional drivers discount. As for camp this summer. Both weeks went well. I currently live in Fresno, CA. As for my Masters it is a never ending project. This is not my normal type post but I wanted to give a little update and no promises about how often I will post but with my new iPad it will make it easy to write on the go and I am always on the go. I am working on our harvest program right now. Last year we had over 200 first time guest on our property from this event and I am excited about this year. So, this post goes out as a thank you to those that still check out my page.
Thank You

My last computer crashed and I got a new computer about four months ago. Ever since this happened I have been locked out of my account. I finely got back into my blog today and noticed it is just a tad bit out of date. I should be back up and running soon.

I have had the opportunity to talk with many Christian Authors but one sticks out in my mind slightly above the rest. Not because of the content of his book but because the content of his life. His name is James Alter. About A year ago I met Pastor Alter the author of “WHY BAPTIST?” We had lunch with a small group at an Italian restraint. After lunch we drove over to a coffee shop. As I ordered my fancy Carmel Latte, he got a Americano. ( A basic espresso poured over hot water) I wanted to at least cover his coffee for taking time to talk with me but instead he bought mine. For the next hour and a half I talked with him one on one about the state of our churches. The main question being “Why Baptist?”
We live in a world that tells us labels are not important. Would you go to a grocery store with no labels? With no way to tell what is inside a can or a box. Labels are incredible important because they reveal to us what is inside.
This book is very simply to understand, clear in its scripturel approach, and allways goes back to the Question”What does the Bible say about this issue?” There are many that have put their faith in “Good People” and not God’s Promises. This one action has unfortanantly led many churches astray. I highly recommend this book and the easest place to find it would be at www.TheAncientBaptistJournal.com .
